"A gentle tale about a little girl who wants to fly. This lovely story is set in and around Walden Pond and Henry David Thoreau."   Love Canada Geese

"The Snow Goose is one of three beautifully written stories in this delightful book by Paul Gallico. This story will touch your heart. We highly recommend this book for all ages."  Love Canada Geese

TILL DEATH DO US PART

Wood carvings of Canada geese on an oil painting by Guy Stoye

Love Canada Geese is honored to welcome Guy and his partner, Ann to our website.

Here is Guy's story in his own words:

"Our place is directly on the Danbury Bog, actually a slow moving, narrow, shallow river running almost two and a half miles northward from Ragged Mountain in Danbury, New Hampshire. We are lucky enough to have the geese nearby all through the summer.

(2) Trusting mother, watchful father, curious goslings.
(3) Such beauty, so close

I have been doing oil paintings of the bog and carving miniature geese to mount on the paintings. All the wood I use is Eastern White Pine from a beautiful, big tree which was smashed to the ground two summers ago by a lightening strike. The lightening exploded the trunk 15 feet above the ground and severed the whole upper part of the tree from the remaining stump. I mourn for my lovely tree but like to think that instead of buying wood (trees cut down for this) I am keeping the tree with us in the geese."

Guy has also written a beautifully inspiring and moving poem. Please

Message from Love Canada Geese: Earl and I have been collecting Canada geese memorabilia for many years and Guy's artwork is one of the most unique we have ever seen. He gives life to his tree by carving geese from it and then displaying them on a painting of his beautiful bog. What a lovely way to honor the earth and its precious creatures.

Thank you very much, Guy and Ann, for contributing your poem, artwork and photographs to our website.
